Gary is a lifelong bass angler who understands how important battery weight, runtime, and reliability are for electric boating. His 19-foot Skeeter Semi-V is powered by a 48V 10.0 Torqueedo electric outboard motor, supported by four LiTime 48V 100Ah lithium batteries connected in parallel. His setup also includes a 24V Minn Kota Quest trolling motor with Spot-Lock, powered by one LiTime 24V 100Ah lithium battery, plus two LiTime 12V 100Ah lithium batteries for fish finders and onboard electronics.

Before switching to LiTime, Gary was running a much heavier lead-acid setup. At one point, his boat used ten 6V lead-acid batteries for the main electric motor and three 12V lead-acid batteries for the trolling motor and electronics, adding up to about 1,000 lbs of battery weight. By replacing lead-acid batteries with LiTime lithium batteries, he removed about 700 lbs from the boat and built a more practical electric boat power system.

Why I Needed a Better Electric Boat Battery Setup

I have been a bass angler all my life, and electric power has always been part of the way I fish. Many of the lakes and reservoirs I fish are electric-only waters, so the battery setup is not just a backup system. It is what powers the boat, the trolling motor, and the electronics I depend on.

Before moving to lithium, I was using a heavy lead-acid battery setup. My previous system included ten 6V lead-acid batteries for the main motor and three 12V lead-acid batteries for the trolling motor and electronics. That added up to about 1,000 lbs of battery weight in the boat.

The problem was not only weight. I was also looking for a lithium battery solution that could support higher-voltage electric boat systems at a reasonable cost. At the time, it was difficult to find a practical 60V lithium option or 12V batteries that could be wired for higher-voltage systems.

Why I Chose LiTime for My Electric Boat Power Setup

About three years ago, I started researching lithium battery companies. I looked at product reviews, compared options, and reached out to LiTime along with three other battery companies. LiTime responded within 24 hours, and that fast response made a strong impression on me.

I was looking for lithium batteries that were reasonably priced, reliable, and backed by a company with responsive service. After speaking with the LiTime team, the relationship continued from there, and I became involved in promoting LiTime batteries to other anglers and boaters.

For an electric boat setup, the battery system has to match the motor, voltage, electronics, and real fishing conditions. LiTime gave me a way to move away from heavy lead-acid batteries and build a system that better fits how I fish.

My LiTime Battery Setup and Real-World Results

My boat is a 19-foot Skeeter Semi-V with an 84-inch beam, powered by a 48V 10.0 Torqueedo electric outboard motor. That motor is supported by four LiTime 48V 100Ah lithium batteries connected in parallel, giving the system 400Ah of battery capacity. Each battery weighs about 80 lbs, for a total of about 320 lbs in the main battery bank.

For additional boat control, I run a 24V Minn Kota Quest trolling motor with Spot-Lock. It is powered by one LiTime 24V 100Ah lithium battery. This setup lets me run the trolling motor all day, even in windy tournament conditions, and still have enough power for at least two more full days.

I also run two large-screen fish finders with forward-facing sonar, along with bilge pumps, lights, aerators, and other electronics. These are powered by two LiTime 12V 100Ah lithium batteries, which have been able to last all day without issues.

The biggest change after switching from lead-acid to LiTime lithium batteries was weight. By replacing the old lead-acid setup, I removed about 700 lbs from the boat. In boating, that kind of weight reduction matters because it can affect performance, handling, and how practical the full electric setup feels on the water.

The Value of LiTime Lithium Batteries for Electric Boat Power

Gary’s story shows how LiTime lithium batteries can support a full electric boat power system, not just a single accessory. His setup powers the main electric outboard motor, the trolling motor, and the 12V electronics needed for fishing and boat operation.

For anglers on electric-only lakes and reservoirs, battery weight and system design are especially important. A heavy lead-acid setup can make the boat harder to manage, while a properly planned lithium setup can reduce weight and make electric boating more practical.

This type of LiTime battery setup is especially relevant for electric boat owners, bass anglers, tournament anglers, and boaters who want to move from lead-acid batteries to lithium. Depending on the motor voltage and onboard power needs, users can explore LiTime 48V lithium batteries, 24V trolling motor batteries, 12V marine lithium batteries, and LiTime OBM batteries for electric outboard motor systems.
